Our Legacy…

In 1983, Central Park Christian School opened classes for K-3 through 8th Grade, adding one grade each year until graduating its first senior class in 1988. Since then, 90% of Central Park Christian graduates have attended a four-year college or university; 6% community or technical colleges; 3% the military; and 1% the work force. Central Park Christian prides itself on instilling character in its students as they grow academically and spiritually during their school experience. Students also have the opportunity to excel athletically as Central Park Christian offers an outstanding nationally-renowned basketball program for both boys and girls.

Central Park Christian students have attended colleges and universities all over the United States. Some of those schools include, but are not limited to, Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, Alabama State University, University of Alabama, University of Alabama in Birmingham, University of West Alabama, Auburn University, Cambridge University, Carnegie Mellon University, Columbia University, Duke University, University of Georgia, Jacksonville State University, University of Kentucky, Loyola University, University of Michigan, University of Mississippi, Rice University, Talladega College, Tulane University, Tuskegee University, Vanderbilt University School of Law, and Yale University.

Central Park Christian is known for its diverse student body, attracting international students from all over the world. Over ninety-five percent (95%) of these students have gone on to continue their studies in American colleges and universities and graduate. While some are still enrolled, many of the others have attained degrees and gone on to pursue careers in their respective fields.

In 2018, in a dynamic move of God, Central Park Christian School was gifted to Rock City Church under the leadership of Pastor Mike McClure, Jr. affectionately known as Pastor Mike, Jr. The school continued operation under the name Central Park Christian School, until 2021. In 2021, the school officially became Rock City Preparatory Christian School and moved from the Ensley Community to the campus of Rock City Church! We look forward to continuing in the rich legacy of building champions for Christ and students who will impact their immediate spaces and the entire world for kingdom!

Mission

We acknowledge God is the source of all truth; therefore, our mission is to demonstrate and teach the saving knowledge of our living Lord Jesus Christ. We endeavor to help each student to "grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man" so that each student may become all that God created him or her to be.

Commitment

We’re committed to providing an education based on Christian values and academic excellence in a loving community that spiritually, emotionally, physically and academically equips, challenges, and inspires students to impact their world for Christ. We lead and instruct each student according to our A4 Principle:

  • Agape – We teach the incorruptible love of God and encourage each student to love without condition and attachment.

  • Academics – We instill in our children a love for learning and desire to excel academically.

  • Athletics – We believe in excelling athletically and building on our rich heritage of building champions.

  • Achievement – The lessons we instill in our students go far beyond their time in the school and extend to every aspect of their lives.
